The woman behind AppleCrisp - Miriam
Hello everyone!
Let me introduce myself - my name is Miriam Berger. I grew up in a suburb of Toronto, Canada and have enjoyed quite an interesting life so far. Once graduating from high school, I left the city life for a university town called Waterloo. That became my home for the next 4 years where I completed my undergrad at Wilfrid Laurier University in Honours Business with a major in Marketing and minor in Political Science.
After graduating, I spent the next 5 years back in Toronto working for DuPont and got re-aquainted with living in a big city. As an avid traveller, I realised that I had an interest in working and living abroad. In Feb 2006, I left Toronto and moved to Jersey (Channel Islands) in the UK where I lived until August 2009. During this time I worked in the financial services industry, working for 2 of the largest banks in the UK & the largest bank in Canada.
I started up AppleCrisp Marketing Solutions in October 2009 as a consulting solution for businesses in need of an internationally minded marketer. Since then, I've offered these services to clients across the globe, including clients in North America, the UK and the Middle East. This new adventure allows me to harness the opportunity to service clients who may need my marketing expertise and passion on a project basis.
As a commitment to the marketing field, I also decided to complete my Masters in the UK at the University of Winchester and have just completed my final dissertation submission. I will know the final results in Dec 2011 but am pleased with the quality of research I conducted. The topic, gender differences in the buying behaviour of financial service products, was very interesting to research and the results provide practical insights that will help the financial industry as a whole.
As my story shows, I love to travel and enjoy getting to know new and interesting cultures. I also love what I do and feel my career in Marketing has really opened up a lot of doors for me.
In my spare time, I love reading, writing, being outdoors as well as keeping myself in shape at the gym. As the picture above shows, one of my real passions is wine...not just drinking it but also learning about it. In 2008, I passed my advanced Wine and Spirits Trust Education certification.
Most importantly, through my adventures, I've developed friendships with people who are scattered around the world and am fortunate to have these great people in my lives.
I look forward to creating more professional relationships through this site and look forward to working with you!
